Dingers sweep U14 Back to School Classic

The Dundee Dingers secured the top spot in last weekend's Back to School Classic.  Beating the Hampshire Hawks 5-3 in the first round to advance to the semi-finals.  The Elmhurst Elks put up a fight but fell to the Dingers in extra innings, 7-6.

The Dingers faced off against their rivals the Burlington Bombers on Sunday afternoon.  With lights out pitching from their ace Ben Palmer, the Dingers held the Bombers to only 3 hits while Palmer recorded 11 strikeouts.  "I just kept the ball low in the zone and threw strikes.  Carter was great behind the plate, and my team had my back in the field," said Palmer. Despite solid pitching from the Bombers staff the Dingers rallied together in the bottom of the 6th inning to score the winning run on a walkoff bases loaded double from Corey Hodge to secure the 1-0 victory and the Tournament Victory.

Coach Moeller said, "I'm really proud of everything these young men have accomplished in this summer season. And we are all very excited to see them continue to develop as they move into their high school careers."

Congrats on a great summer season, Dingers! And way to bring home that hardware!
